Liam's punishment

'um .... no ... maybe'
He couldn't believe he just said that I mean what the hell was he thinking saying that to Brittney. He turned a deep shade of red, suggesting that what he said might not have been the real answer. He wouldn't have minded to much if he told Mariah, she was the type of girl who at best might have thought it was amusing but never really acted on it. But Brittney she was the kind of girl who would try and keep nude 24/7 not that would be a bad thing, exactly. But Brittney?!?! He continued to eat his diner.

'an accident?' he thought but who could it be? could the truck he saw earlier? 'is someone dead?' he thought, what the fuck was going on? He could hear Brittney on the phone Could it be happening again, like it had before all those times in the other towns. this wasn't good.

Liam's Phone vibrated, he put down his knife and fork as he looked at the text message. He starred at the message reading it several times before he wrote a reply 'Fuck, where, how?'
He tried to get up from the table but his legs seemed to give out from underneath him and he fell over landing on his butt. 'there's been an accident.... '

He did not notice Brittney as he got to his feet. He felt something in his stomach calling him away from the farm. Giving into the feeling he turning away from Brittney he started to run down the driveway. When he reached the road he started to run towards the town.

*Britney was not happy at all with the fact Liam went running out of there. She screamed and stomped her foot, as if like a child throwing a tantrum.

Meanwhile at the hospital, Penny was crying as she sat in the corner of the waiting room. She was trying to text people about what was going on. No one had seen Mariah come in, all they knew was that her condition was serious.

When Liam would arrive to the hospital, he would be greeted by hospital staff, demanding he throw on a pair of pants and then offering him some doctor scrub pants. They also directed him to the waiting room.*

*Penny's eyes grew wide as Liam walked in and she saw the commotion of the nurses demanding he get dressed. She tried to not blush as she looked away quickly and thankful that Mariah's grandmother was not looking. When Liam sat down beside her, she fidgeted a little in her seat and finally said, "I'm so worried about her...no one has come out to say anything. She's in surgery now. I'm glad you got my message."

Penny had not been to the farm today, but she had seen the pictures and texts. She blushed as he shook her hand and she looked away hiding her face. "Um...nice to meet you...yes you certainly have a reputation here. She smoothed her dark hair back out of her face.* "I'm Penny...Penny McGuire. Mariah has been my best friend since junior high. I don't know if she's going to be alright..." The doctor came out then, followed by a nurse. The doctors face looked grim as he motioned for Mariah's grandmother to come along. Penny jumped up and joined her, still half holding Liam's hand for support.* "Mrs. Knight...your granddaughter is stable. She has two broken ribs, a broken wrist, a broken foot, and her collar bone is fractured. She has a lot of cuts and gashes which also resulted in a lot of blood loss. She had a collapsed lung which is on the mend now after surgery. She has a head injury but the swelling seems to be going down. However, she was put into a medically induced coma to try to relieve the stress and pain. She may be unconscious for several days. Her body needs to heal and that will be the only way. She lost a lot of blood...it's a waiting game now. The blood loss was pretty severe. We don't know how long she was in that ravine trapped in that car. She is prone to infection but we are giving her medications to hopefully prevent it." Mariah's grandmother cupped her hands around her face and began to cry. "Is there anything we can do?" Penny asked, trying not to cry herself. "Right now we need blood. We don't have enough blood, especially that matches her blood type, A-. So we need anyone with an A- or O- blood type." the doctor replied and then gave them each a reassuring pat on the back. "She is being moved to ICU and can have visitors within the hour."
